GTF/GTMC pre-meeting aligns five associations on Tokyo 2026, test methods and JATMA’s call for papers
On Thursday 8 January 2026, representatives from the world’s regional adhesive tapes organisations, PSTC (USA), Afera (Europe), CATIA (China), TAAT (Taiwan) and JATMA (Japan), held a one-hour online pre-meeting of the 8th Global Tape Forum (GTF) and Global Test Methods Committee (GTMC) event.

7th Global Tape Forum and Global Test Methods Committee met in Shanghai alongside the 2024 China Adhesive Tape Forum
The China Adhesives and Tape Industry Association (CATIA) convened a four-day international programme in Shanghai that combined the 7th Global Tape Forum (GTF) and Global Test Methods Committee (GTMC) Meetings and the wider China Adhesive Tape Forum and Expo from 23–26 April 2024.

7th Global Tape Forum, Global Test Methods Committee Meeting & 2024 China Adhesive Tape Forum rescheduled to April 24 to 26, 2024, still in Shanghai
At the Adhesive and Tape Annual Conference just concluded last week, the China Adhesives and Tape Industry Association (CATIA) promoted and released the 7th Global Tape Forum/Global Test Methods Committee Meeting & 2024 China Adhesive Tape Forum, which is scheduled in Shanghai from 24 to 26 April 2024.

Following agreement with all Members, late last year Afera’s leadership announced its hosting of a joint, preparatory Global Tape Forum (GTF) and Global Test Methods Committee (GTMC) Meeting in 2023, ahead of the 8th official international events planned for China in 2024.

PSTC opens call for abstracts for 2020 annual event
The Pressure Sensitive Tape Council (PSTC), the leading North American trade association for pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape manufactures and affiliate suppliers, recently announced its call for abstracts for the opportunity to presentduring the Building & Construction Industry: Markets and Applications Track at its upcoming annual event, the historically known Tape Summit, taking place in Orlando, Florida, May 6-9, 2020.

JATMA, the Japanese Adhesive Tape Manufacturers Association, which was set to host the 7th edition of the GTF and Global Test Methods Committee Meetings on 10-12 November 2021 at the Osaka International Convention Centre, has postponed the event until further notice.

Creating the GTF Afera SC Strategy Subgroup Member Mike Ayres of Advance Tapes (U.K.) has been leading the Global Tape Forum (GTF) project for the last 2 years. At Afera’s recent Stockholm Conference, he explained that the GTF’s second meeting took place on 6 October, and that he was happy to report that the GTF was firmly off and running.
